Here we go! Psalm 8, full of worship and praise and proclamation. It’s time for that! We have begun to war … the battle is joined! Have you felt it? I have. I’m caring more, I’m praying deeper, and I’m seeing my shortcomings all too clearly! That’s just part of the experience. I see where I naturally incline every day toward something easier, something more superficial, less catastrophic.
But still, we are here. Our Dear Little Friends, Our Desperate Little Friends, cannot have gone untouched while we have cried out. Many of them have been living in catastrophy.
Corrie ten Boom told the story of ministering to a woman steeped in darkness. Outside the room where they met sat a man, next to speak with Corrie, eager to meet her. He overheard enough to know that there was a spiritual conflict taking place; he prayed earnestly where he sat. He mentioned this to Corrie, and she wrote that when the woman came back the next day, telling the story of her deliverance as she stepped through her own front door, that she knew it was the intercession of the man in the waiting room that had turned the tide.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory in the heavens AND I DO NOT WANT _____________ TO MISS IT!
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies, THE ENEMIES OF THOSE WE LOVE AND ARE LEARNING TO LOVE DEEPLY, AND THAT STRONGHOLD WILL silence the foe and the avenger, ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD!
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
5 You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
I, WITH THOSE FOR WHOM I PRAY, ARE MADE JUST LIKE THAT, AND I WANT TO SEE MY FRIEND(S,) MY CHILD, MY FAMILY, CROWNED JUST LIKE THAT.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
7 all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
LORD GOD, O LORD MY GOD, LET MY DESPERATE LITTLE FRIEND(S) ______________________________________
BE GIVEN GRACE AND TRUTH AND FAITH TO RULE THEIR OWN SOULS IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, TO PUT UNBELIEF AND UNFORGIVENESS UNDER THEIR FEET! HEAR ME, O LORD!
9 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
LET ME PRAISE YOU TOGETHER WITH _________________, MY GRACIOUS GOD!
